Buffett's BNSF cuts ethanol shipper costs amid push for safer train cars

FRA Issues RWD on DOT 111 Tank Car

On September 30, the FRA issued a Rail Worthiness Directive (RWD) pertaining to DOT 111 tank cars. Specifically the FRA identified DOT-111 tank cars produced by American Railcar Industries, Inc. Dot-111 Phase Out Dates Moved Up By Transport Canada

In May 2015, the United States Department of Transportation and Transport Canada both issued new regulations to enhance the safety of oil tank cars.
